Quavondo was awarded in the International Photography Awards Competition. International Photography Awards (IPA) has announced the winners of 2012′s competition.
Quavondo was Awarded: Honorable Mention in Advertising – Fashion category for the winning entry ”Aliens,” Honorable Mention in Advertising – Other category for the winning entry ”In the Shadows,” Honorable Mention in Advertising – Fashion category for the winning entry ”Empire State of Mind,” and Honorable Mention in Advertising – Product category for the winning entry ”Adidas Vintage.”

Time goes by fast doesn’t it? I knew I wanted to be a “photographer” at the beginning of 2007, bought my camera off of Craig’s list and started asking a few of my friends to pose for me, then I spent a lot of my time just shooting landscapes and objects. Slowly I moved onto “real” models. It was exciting to just shoot anything and everything.

In 2008 I decided to enter one image into the IPA (International Photography Awards) the biggest photography competition in the world. Truly humbled, I was shocked that I won an Honorable Mention in Fashion Advertising. Now thinking back, I should have entered the image into the non professional category.

In 2009 I decided to push my luck a little bit and enter more than just one image, as a result 7 of my images won Honorable Mentions in the categories of Portrait, Fashion, Fine Art, Special Effects, Editorial, and Children.

In 2010 one of my images won 3rd place in Special – Digitally Enhanced category for the winning entry “Fright Night”

and three images won Honorable Mentions in Advertising – Catalogue category for the winning entry “Blond Ambition,” Honorable Mention in Advertising – Fashion category for the winning entry “Papier Couture,” Honorable Mention in Fine Art – Nudes category for the winning entry “Bare.”

In 2011 five of my images won six Honorable Mention in Advertising – Product category for the winning entry “Rock Climber,” Honorable Mention in Special – Digitally Enhanced category for the winning entry “Gargoyle,” Honorable Mention in Advertising – Self-Promotion category for the winning entry “The Storm,” Honorable Mention in Advertising – Beauty category for the winning entry “NAHA Entry Series,” Honorable Mention in Advertising – Beauty category for the winning entry “SidLab Styling Products Campaign,” and Honorable Mention in Special – Digitally Enhanced category for the winning entry “SidLab Styling Products Campaign.”

Hopefully one day I can get that elusive 1st place prize. Til then, I’m going to keep on shooting!
